Scalability is assured with a capacity range from 32 to 128 TB (24TB to 96 TB with RAID) and from 4 direct to 90 switched client connections. Each ISIS 5000 Storage Engine houses sixteen 2 TB disk drives arrayed in three 4+1 RAID5 sets plus a hot spare drive. The ISIS 5000 Engine houses an ISIS System Director CPU that performs system metadata management .The System Director is protected with mirrored, field-replaceable system drives and if needed, operation can easily shift to the System Director in a different Engine. Depending on the model, four 1Gbit Ethernet ports or a 10Gbit Ethernet port provide connectivity to one or two external switches, or directly connect to four 1Gbit clients. In addition, you can combine the DC model with an externally sourced switch.

Remarkable performance, protection, and capacity enhancements for your Avid Unity™

Synergy UXE is the newest addition to Archion’s line of RAID storage for Avid’s Unity™ MediaNetwork™ and Media Engine™ platforms. It extends the Synergy’s abilities to a full 800 MB/second and has increased its capacity to an amazing 32TB in a single chassis for Unity Media Engine™ (5.x). Its Unity™ compatibility and abilities are unmatched. Keeping the Synergy standard of legacy compatibility, UXE is fully compatible with 1 Gig, 2 Gig and 4 Gig Unity and with other Archion certified Unity add-on storage systems.

Synergy UXE storage systems deliver 8, 16, or 32 Terabytes (TB) of storage in a compact 3 rack unit design with 16 drive chassis. It has a built-in highly intelligent hardware RAID controller to manage the storage more efficiently and it automatically rebuilds a faulty drive, so the rest of the network is unaffected by the drive failure. With Synergy UXE, multiple chassis’s can be attached to a Unity™ 5.1 delivering the maximum capacity of 128TB’s of usable protected storage. UXE can also help maximize the Unity™ 4.2x with nearly 40TB’s of fully protected storage.

Synergy UXE is designed for Unity Media Engine™ 5.x, but is also certified for use with Unity Media Networks™ (v3.5 – 4.2x). With the award winning and patent pending Vdisk™ technology, Archion can assure compatibility between versions and that operation is transparent to the Unity™ system. All UXE systems are pre-configured, so just plug in to the storage port on your Unity™ and add to or create a data set.

Archion’s hardware RAID controller consistently checks, identifies, and repairs drive errors while ensuring constant data flow. If one of the drives should fail to perform, the hot spare drive kicks in and automatically and seamlessly rebuilds the data. Clients continue to work, log off, and log on as normal without interfering with the Unity operation. The Synergy UXE RAID controller manages the disk drives, RAID sets, and Vdisks™ in a more efficient manner, requiring far fewer drives than Avid storage subsystems to deliver higher capacities and resolutions.

Synergy UXE hardware RAID controller provides better protection with less storage overhead than Unity™ RAID. All UXE’s are configured in RAID level 5 and this provides over 60% more usable storage than mirroring. The UXE can also be configured for dual port operation on a single switch, allowing full load balancing.

WINDOWS AND MAC OSX MULTI-USER WRITE
Multiple Windows and Mac OSX clients may simultaneously write to a virtual volume without any third party software. Content updates occur in real time. The TerraBlock achieves this with no per seat licensing, external metadata controllers or complex networking.

FIBRE AND ETHERNET CONNECTIVITY
The TerraBlock’s versatility offers both Fibre channel and Ethernet Connectivity. The
TerraBlock’s Ethernet option is the optimal solution for low bandwidth or high client count environments. Facilities that require high bandwidth can make use of the standard 8Gb Fibre connectivity available on the TerraBlock. Clients may direct connect to the TerraBlock without the use of a Fibre channel switch. Both the Ethernet and Fibre clients can access the same Multi Write volume at the same time.

DYNAMIC VOLUME ACCESS
The TerraBlock is the only shared storage solution that allows you to dynamically change volumes based on your needs. You can change a volume from Single User write to Multi User write and back with a click of a button. Any volume can be assigned Read Only permissions to avoid accidental writes or deletions. The TerraBlock can easily be configured to optimize your workflow.

PROJECT AND MEDIA SHARING
As part of the Facilis Shared File System, TerraBlock delivers a unique File System Emulation mode which allows Multi-user Write volumes to work with native project sharing in industry leading applications.

VIRTUALIZED VOLUMES FOR SIMPLIFIED WORKFLOW
TerraBlock Virtual volumes allow for simplified workflow for ingest, collaboration and archive. Every volume has full system bandwidth regardless of size, and that bandwidth never decreases, even when the system is at full capacity. Due to innovative data placement, file fragmentation is never an issue.

DYNARAID
All virtual volumes can be protected from drive failure through Mirroring or RAID5. The RAID scheme can be changed on the fly without loss of data.

DEDICATED TO POST PRODUCTION
